Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join our Trust, as HR Business Partner, for one of our clinical divisions. You will be a key part of both the HR Team and the Division's Leadership Team, working to support the implementation of our people and organisational strategies, focussing on the wellbeing, motivation, development, recruitment and retention of our people.

You will lead and ensure the provision of a high quality, timely, HR service to the Division across the full range of people matters, while also getting involved in Trust and System wide projects - including the development of policies, strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives, values and best practice.

Main duties of the job

You will be heavily involved in supporting organisational and people planning, transformation, engagement and performance, the embedding of great HR practice, management of casework, championing of equality and diversity and raising management capability within the Division.

As a member of the Divisional Leadership Team, the post holder provides professional and strategic HR leadership, advice and support to the Divisional Leadership Team and clinical teams.

You will be the link for all people matters and programmes of work within the Division including organisational development, recruitment and workforce planning.

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • HR Level 7 Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Active Membership of the CIPD (or equivalent)

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Specialist knowledge of a range of highly complex HR topics
  • Experience of working at a senior level
  • Significant experience of planning and supporting the delivery of transformation and change

Desirable criteria

  • NHS experience

Communication Skills

Essential criteria

  • High level communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships across a wide range of staff at all levels
  • Proven line management and supervision experience

Planning and Organsiation

Essential criteria

  • Ability to prioritise and manage a heavy, varied and unpredictable workload on a day to day basis, responding to changes at short notice

Analytical & Judgement Skills

Essential criteria

  • Able to analyse and interpret complex information in a variety of formats
  • Able to analyse situations and facilitate workable solutions

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

ID and Right to work checks: NUH authenticate ID and right to work documentation including passports and driving licenses through a system called Trust ID. NUH will scan your ID and right to work documentation in to the Trust ID system at your face to face ID appointment. The system will run a check against the key security features within your documentation. The system will provide us with an outcome of your check which will be stored securely on your personal file along with all other pre-employment check documentation.

Consent:

  • Transfer of information: If I have previous NHS service - I consent to the transfer of my Electronic Staff Record (ESR) data between this and other NHS Trusts. I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post. I understand this is an automated process and the information will only be used for these purposes prior to me taking up the position at NUH.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£41.90 for enhanced and £21.90 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay). Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
