Job Title: CLEANER

Hours of Work:

Role 1 27.5 hours per week. Hours of work are 4.00 pm to 10.00 pm (Less 30 min unpaid break) Monday to Friday. Flexibility in hours will be required on occasion to meet the demands of the post, to include mornings, evenings or weekends.

Role 2 10 hours per week. Hours of work are 8.00 am to 1.00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Flexibility in hours will be required on occasion to meet the demands of the post, to include evenings or weekends.

Remuneration:

Role 1 You will be paid a salary of £15,587.00 (which equates to £10.90 per hour)

Role 2 You will be paid a salary of £5,668.00 (which equates to £10.90 per hour)

Salaries will be paid monthly in arrears direct into your nominated bank account.

Holidays: You are entitled to 5 weeks paid holiday per year plus bank holidays. The holiday year runs from 1 July to 30 June. Holiday can only be taken following prior authorisation from the Services Manager, taking account of Sherborne School busy periods. Attendance may also be required on Bank Holidays on a rota basis, as directed by the Services Manager for which you will receive a day in lieu.

Main Job Objective

As part of the School Cleaning Team your role will require you to work in different locations around the schools as well as the boarding houses. Duties are likely to include:

  • Vacuuming
  • Dusting
  • Polishing
  • Use of Cleaning Machinery
  • Cleaning toilets, bathrooms, changing/shower rooms, etc.
  • Floor and Carpet cleaning, etc.
  • Internal windows/glass Cleaning
  • As reasonably directed to support the cleanliness of the School.

These duties are not intended to be comprehensive and other tasks and projects will be undertaken at the direction of the Services Manager.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Previous cleaning experience desirable
  • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Ability to be flexible in undertaking varied tasks and to ‘muck in’ as required
  • The post holder will report to work each day punctually and reliably, work extra hours when needed.
  • The post holder must comply with School Policies and Procedures (to include the appropriate use of cleaning chemicals, incident and damage reporting, Equal Opportunities etc.)
